Banana Seal in Pix Magazine, Australia, April 8, 1939

[Image description: snippet from an old newspaper article titled, “A Wild Crow Adopts A Schoolboy”. the article reads, “An Unusual Friendship Has Sprung Up Between Billy Schweinsberg of Chicago, U.S.A., and a wild crow. Returning home from school, Billy was walking through the Lincoln Park Bird Sanctuary when the crow suddenly hopped on his shoulder. They have been inseparable companions ever since and can always be seen together when Billy eats, sleeps, plays, or studies.”

beneath the text is a picture of Schweinsberg asleep on a couch with the crow standing on him, cowing over the boy. the photo is captioned, “"Wake Up, Wake Up, You Sleepy Head; wake up, wake up, get out of bed.” With the first gleam of dawn, the crow, “Blackie” is anxious to start the duties of the day. He is never  far away while his master is sleeping and every morning without fail he wakes Billy with cawing which cannot be denied.“ /end image description]
